Artist, curator and creative strategist Debra Scacco studies contemporary and historic structures of permission. Working at the intersection of history, culture and environment, her work connects policy to people by highlighting individual stories impacted by entrenched political structures. Previous exhibitions include Royal Academy of Arts (London), Viper Basel (Switzerland), and the Victoria & Albert Museum (London). In 2012, she was the inaugural Artist-in-Residence at Ellis Island Museum (NYC). She is the recipient of a 2019-20 Cultural Trailblazer award by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (LADCA).
