Join us on June 18 to explore the science behind the FLUIDS installation in this hands on workshop for youth ages 5-8.

In this workshop, we will explore how various FLUIDS take different forms and transform with environmental interventions. Starting with an ice balloon, each participant will conduct a series of experiments to create their own "watercolor" paints, and create a piece of art inspired by the colors and shapes of the FLUIDS installation. This workshop expands on the exploration of air as a fluid, and offers an opportunity to observe how different fluids interact with each other, and how solid forms can FLOW into FLUIDS.

This workshop is FREE for youth ages 5-8. Registration is required. Masks are required inside the gallery.

About the Facilitator

Luke Davis

Luke Davis is a multidisciplinary artist and photographer based in Pasadena, exploring the use of non-traditional, found materials, and the combination of current and obsolete technologies. Luke shares his interest and passion about art-making with elementary and middle school students as a Teaching Artist at Milagro Charter in Los Angeles, and Remainders Creative Reuse in Pasadena. He has previously taught in arts programs through Armory Center for the Arts and Center of the Arts Eagle Rock.
