Join us for the 4th and final workshop of our FREE art-making workshop series inspired by our current exhibition, Invisibility: Powers & Perils, curated by Yael Lipschutz and presented in collaboration with Getty's PST ART: Art & Science Collide. The exhibit explores how both invisibility and hypervisibility impact privacy, history, and systems of knowledge on a social, environmental and cosmic level. The exhibiting artists, scientists and activists ask us to consider the dangers and complexities of how visibility functions in the world and cosmos.

Workshop #4: Painting (Anti)Vessels

Our exhibition includes Sarah Rosalena's Transposing a Form, which uses a computerized coiling method to 3D print a ceramic object. It is an anti-vessel because it cannot effectively hold anything--it has an open bottom and top. In this workshop, we will use air-dry clay and watercolor paint to explore Sarah Rosalena's notion of the "anti-vessel" by turning paintings into vessels and vessels into paintings.

This is part of a FREE event series and all supplies are provided by OXY ARTS. No registration required.
